Dinner with the Smileys: One Military Family, One Year of Heroes, and Lessons for a Lifetime details the true story of how one military spouse, Sarah Smiley, and her children made the best of a year during which her husband was deployed. Once a week, they invite someone to their home for dinner: teachers, celebrities, lawmakers.
Since 1986, April has been designated the Month of the Military Child. Military installations all over the world are hosting special events, plus free and discounted activities in honor of military children, and most of these events and activities fall under 2 major categories: those hosted by CYS (Child and Youth Services) and those hosted by MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation). Some activities are just for kids, but many are for the entire family.
