Learn More About MyCAA Military Spouse Education Funding

Here’s a short video that introduces MyCAA scholarships for military spouses, which can provide up to $4,000 to cover a license, certificate, or associate’s degree.

Eligibility requirements: “Spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2 and O-1 to O-2 who can start and complete their coursework while their military sponsor is on Title 10 military orders, including spouses married to members of the National Guard and reserve component in these same pay grades.” (Source: MyCAA Factsheet)

V-WISE: Entrepreneurship Program for MilSpouses & Female Vets

V-WISE LogoInterested in starting your own business? The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University offers a program in entrepreneurship for military spouses and female veterans called V-WISE, Women Veterans Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship.

*In order to be eligible as a MilSpouse, you must be the spouse/partner of a Veteran Business Owner.

The program consists of 3 phases:

  1. 15-day online course
  2. 3-day conference — one is coming up in August in Seattle, with another scheduled for November in Denver
  3. Receipt of comprehensive small business resources

Looking for a career that you can take with you throughout that many moves Uncle Sam will send you and your family on? One possibility: group fitness instructor or personal trainer.

You’ll need to get certified, but if you’re eligible for a MyCAA Scholarship, you can get your certification paid for.
